One wrath, two Greek words. One salvation, two cups.

The one verse that pre-tribulations rapturists use to back up their being whisked away before a 7 year pretrib is found in 1st Thessalonians 5:9. “For God hath not appointed us to wrath,”. This is where they stop almost everytime and this is how they claim that they are not appointed to Gods wrath. But if you read on you can see the whole verse in context, “but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,”. So it should be read like this, “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” So you can see when read in context of the whole verse, no we arent appointed to wrath and this wrath is directly connected to obtaining salvation through Jesus. So is it safe to say that the wrath that some are appointed for may be due to rejecting the gift of salvation through Jesus? In one word…Yes!

Here is a great example of obtaining wrath and wrath (ὀργὴ) abiding in someone that is rejecting salvation from Jesus. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath (ὀργὴ) of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36) And we can see how wrath is revealed and to who the wrath of God is revealed in Romans 1:18, “For the wrath (ὀργὴ) of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;”. So its obvious that this wrath (orge) is something that every Christian is not appointed for as long as they have salvation through Jesus. Just like Paul says. “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”

I also want to point out the word ‘appointed’ in 1st Thessalonians 5:9. Lets look at the Greek of this verse first.

Stephanus Textus Receptus 1550

Etheto comes from ‘tithémi’ and literally means to fix or establish. Etheto is used seven times in scripture and it refers to something that was appointed through destiny. Its like when someone says that they were destined for greatness. They believe they were appointed for greatness and its a fixed appointment that can’t be removed because they were destined or ἔθετο (etheto) for it. So with that said…We were destined (etheto) to not obtain wrath (orgen) as long as we obtain salvation through Jesus. The ASV actually translated as the literal Greek did. “For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,”.

So is this a free get out of great tribulation card? No it’s not and the reason being is because there are two different words used in Scripture for WRATH. Here they are: 1) orge (Strongs #3709) also translated anger and indignation; 2) thymos (Strongs #2372) – also translated indignation and fierceness. We can see these two different Greek words translated as wrath in English are used side by side, not only by Paul but by John in Revelation.

Romans 2:8 – But to them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation (thymos-θυμός), and wrath (orge-ὀργὴ). Notice that those who do not obey the truth obey both indignation (thymos-θυμός), and wrath (orge-ὀργὴ). And who or what is truth? Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6)

Colossians 3:8 – But now you also put off all these: anger (orgen-ὀργήν), wrath (thymon-θυμόν), malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. In Colossians this word wrath (thymon-θυμόν) is translated as rage in the Greek.

So Paul did use two different words that had two different meanings that were sometimes translated in the English as the word wrath. A great way to explain these two words that translate wrath in English is like this. Thumos is a sudden passionate anger. Like anger boiling up and subsiding again. It is a wrath that isn’t premeditated and is similiar to something done out of passion. This can be a type of furious rage when people “see red”.  Orge on the other hand is a deliberate anger and a hostile vengeance. It is a wrath that is premeditated and was thought out. So you have a wrath that is premeditated (orge) and one that is not (thumos).

Paul not only used these two words together but in the book of Revelation John did to.

Revelation 14:10 – The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath (thymou-θυμοῦ) of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation (orges-ὀργῆς).

Revelation 16:19 – And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness (thymou-θυμοῦ) of his wrath (orges-ὀργῆς).

The same two words are used here when referring to the cup that is poured out into another cup and given to Mystery Babylon. Notice that the unpremeditated wrath is poured into the cup of the premeditated wrath. And the wine of the wrath (thymou-θυμοῦ) of God is poured into the cup of wrath orges-ὀργῆς for good reason.

Now the interesting thing about thumos wrath is the Greek root word of where thumos actually comes from. θύω (thuō) means something that is sacrificed or slaughtered. This same wrath is used for describing the devils short time he has. “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath (thymon, θυμὸν), because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” (Revelation 12:12)

Another interesting time thumos is used is when taking about the 7 bowl judgements. “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath (thymos, θυμὸς) of God.” (Revelation 15:1)

I think the classical Greek view says it right. “Thumos, in the context of ancient Greece, refers to a sense of righteous anger, a need and desire to fight against the perceived injustice of the world. Thumos can refer to the rage, grief, horror or sorrow of any individual who is faced with insurmountable atrocities.

Thumos is our will to fight, our need to rebel against that which is intolerable. It is what makes us stand up and declare ‘I will not be silenced!’. It is what makes us dive headlong against the devastation of this world; what compels us to courageously fight the good fight. And if we are to fail, thumos is the thing within the human spirit that requires us to go down swinging, cursing our oppressors all the while.” (

This is God’s cup of wrath mixed with both orge and thumos for those who reject His Son and those who are not sealed by the Spirit of God. Thumos is God’s last stand if I can say it that.

You see, I had always wondered if this cup of wrath orges-ὀργῆς had any meaning as far as Jesus goes. I personally see this orges wrath as the same wrath that started in the garden when Adam ate of the fruit. This was the wrath of God due to disobedience which led to sin and the need for the redemption of not only man but all of Creation.

Everyone speculates on what this fruit was that Adam ate. Most nonbelievers of scripture even think that this was an apple. It sounds good but I don’t think that this was it. They get an apple based off of two similar words in Latin. Yes once again, we have Jerome’s Latin Vulgate to bring plenty of confusion into the mix. Here is a very good explanation of how this fruit came to be an apple.

“In order to explain, we have to go all the way back to the fourth century A.D., when Pope Damasus ordered his leading scholar of scripture, Jerome, to translate the Hebrew Bible into Latin. Jerome’s path-breaking, 15-year project, which resulted in the canonical Vulgate, used the Latin spoken by the common man. As it turned out, the Latin words for evil and apple are the same: malus…When Jerome was translating the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil,” the word malus snaked in. A brilliant but controversial theologian, Jerome was known for his hot temper, but he obviously also had a rather cool sense of humor.

“Jerome had several options,” says Appelbaum, a professor of English literature at Sweden’s Uppsala University. “But he hit upon the idea of translating peri as malus, which in Latin has two very different meanings. As an adjective, malus means bad or evil. As a noun it seems to mean an apple, in our own sense of the word, coming from the very common tree now known officially as the Malus pumila. So Jerome came up with a very good pun.”

The story doesn’t end there. “To complicate things even more,” says Appelbaum, “the word malus in Jerome’s time, and for a long time after, could refer to any fleshy seed-bearing fruit. A pear was a kind of malus. So was the fig, the peach, and so forth.”

Which explains why Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel fresco features a serpent coiled around a fig tree. But the apple began to dominate Fall artworks in Europe after the German artist Albrecht Dürer’s famous 1504 engraving depicted the First Couple counterpoised beside an apple tree. It became a template for future artists such as Lucas Cranach the Elder, whose luminous Adam and Evepainting is hung with apples that glow like rubies.” (

As you can see, it definetly wasn’t an apple. Others believe it could’ve been a fig, being that the first thing Adam and Eve did was grab fig leaves to cover themselves. Some believe it was a pomegranate, grape or maybe even a wine (an intoxicating strong drink). All of these have enough water in them to make them float, especially in my opinion the fig or the strong drink. I will say that not only was the fig used as a covering by Adam and Eve but think about the fig tree that was cursed by Jesus on the Mount of Olives. And there is good reason to believe that what Jesus drank on the cross (His last drink before He gave up the ghost) might have been vinegar made of figs. I go over this in my book “The Temple, The Abomination and The Holy Place” and in my paper on Vinegar. Mount of Olives was not only known for Olive trees but was also known for fig trees. Matter of fact, Bethpage that is near His crucifixion site and where the Sanhedrin met actually means House of Figs.

I’m only speculating here but to me it makes sense as to why the fig was used to cover nakedness, why Jesus cursed it and died and it was the last tangible thing Jesus drank. So was this vinegar representing judgement? (Please read my paper on this vinegar that will give some insight as to why I feel the way I do on this topic.) Remember when Jesus was in the Garden (once again the Garden symbolism) and He asked the Father to take “this cup” from Him? What was this cup representing? I would speculate to say that it represented the orges wrath that was appointed for all of Creation including man prior to Jesus taking it.

“In Matthew 26:42 we read: “O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.” And John 18:11, “The cup that my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?” These were the words which He spoke while in the Garden of Gethsemane hours before the cross. There in the Garden of Gethsemane He saw a cup that the Father had extended before Him, a cup that He must drink.

What was in that cup? In general, the idea is very clear. A cup is a vessel filled with liquid which one drinks. This was the cup given to Him of the Father. We read inPsalm 75:8, “For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.” We may say that the cup held before Jesus was the full measure of the suffering God had set out as the way of payment, or atonement, for the sins of His people. These sufferings had been assigned to Jesus, sufferings which would culminate in the cross.

The cup that the Father presented to His Son was filled with the lava of God’s holy wrath against our sins, the measure of suffering owed to us who have sinned against the God of heaven. And to receive that cup meant for Christ that He must assume our place before God’s justice, and answer in His own body upon the cross by enduring the burning and holy vengeance of the wrath of God owed against our sins. Christ knew of this cup.

That cup that He must drink is further described in Revelation 14:9, 10: “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.” It is the picture of the cup of God’s wrath unmixed with mercy or pity, poured out upon Him. It was this cup which was presented to Christ, the cup all the elect would have to drink personally if Christ did not drink it in their place. A cup composed of all the elements which the righteousness and justice of God demanded as He beheld the sins of God’s people. Those sins were imputed or reckoned or given over unto Christ, the Lamb of God, so that the cup that He must drink is the undiluted wrath of God against the sins of God’s people, the cup which began to be filled in Adam, his original sin, and is still being filled with every sin you and I commit, filled with the sins of all of God’s elect, the burning lava of God’s holiness against their sins.” (

“In the Old Testament, the image of the cup can symbolize God’s blessing; however, in the majority of instances, the cup represents the Lord’s judgment and wrath on wickedness (Ps. 75:8; Isa. 51:22). Here in Mark 10:38, the cup has negative connotations, which means it represents the cup of divine wrath that Jesus would drink on behalf of His people to save them from their sin.” (
“The disciples will drink a cup, too — a cup of suffering (Matthew 20:23). But Jesus’s cup of suffering is different from theirs because Jesus’s suffering is under God’s anger. Jesus drinks the cup of God’s wrath, a cup that has accumulated the fury of God against sins of all types. Heinous crimes, adultery, careless words, dishonoring thoughts, lies — all of it will be punished by God.

This is the cup Jesus drinks on the cross.

Jesus drank the cup of God’s wrath for us so that he could extend the cup of God’s fellowship to us. It might include suffering, but not wrath. We don’t get wrath anymore — now we get God. We get the sweet, satisfying reality of his eternal fellowship in Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit.” (

Now knowing all of this should give us all a better understanding on what Paul was saying when he said, “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”

And what is the second cup which is for us? “Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:20) and “Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” (1st Corinthians 11:25,26)

The False 9\23 Pillars in the Heavens

I came across something Manly P. Hall wrote in regards to what is called the “World Virgin”. She sits or sometimes stands inbetween the two pillars of Jachin and Boaz in Freemasonic pictures. I won’t get into it but they get those symbolism from Solomon’s Temple that was in Jerusalem. Before I give you some qoutes, it just made me think of this Revelation 12:1 sign that some believe is happening on September 23rd. We have already seen the number 33 thrown around in regards to this false sign and we know what 33 means to occultists. My thought was this…are we seeing this symbolism of the two pillars and the virgin that is revered in Freemasonry happening on 9/23? Look at the symbolism of a Master Mason ie 33rd Degree.

In these pictures you can see the “World Virgin” inbetween the two pillars and as you will see below, the “World Virgin” represents Isis. I thought I would then over lay the screenshot from Stellarium on top of this Masonic symbolism.

Notice the comet also

The images above fit perfectly with these Masonic pictures. The problem is this, I have to make the Stellarium image upside down to fit the pillars as the Masonic pictures have them. Most images have Boaz the Sun on the left and Jachin the Moon on the right. Does any of this mean anything? I’m not sure but who knows, maybe these occultists are seeing something we all aren’t.

“The World Virgin is sometimes shown standing between two great pillars–the Jachin and Boaz of Freemasonry–symbolizing the fact that Nature attains productivity by means of polarity. As wisdom personified, Isis stands between the pillars of opposites, demonstrating that understanding is always found at the point of equilibrium and that truth is often crucified between the two thieves of apparent contradiction.

The sheen of gold in her dark hair indicates that while she is lunar, her power is due to the sun’s rays, from which she secures her ruddy complexion. As the moon is robed in the reflected light of the sun, so Isis, like the virgin of Revelation, is clothed in the glory of solar luminosity…The ancients believed that the universal sperm proceeded from warm vapor, humid but fiery. The veiled Isis, whose very coverings represent vapor, is symbolic of this humidity, which is the carrier or vehicle for the sperm life of the sun, represented by a child in her arms. Because the sun, moon, and stars in setting appear to sink into the sea and also because the water receives their rays into itself, the sea was believed to be the breeding ground for the sperm of living things. This sperm is generated from the combination of the influences of the celestial bodies; hence Isis is sometimes represented as pregnant.” (

“A woman is sitting between two pillars. She represents the subconscious mind, a Shekinah, female presence of the divine. Pillars are black and white, obviously pointing to their different origin. She sits between them, impartial to both of them. She is balancing opposite forces serving as a bridge between the two. The curtain behind her connects the pairs. The letters on the pillars are B and J. The B is symbolic of the number 2 falling as the second letter in the alphabet. The letter J is the 10th letter in the alphabet, in numerology, this is reduced to 1. So on the pillars we have the numbers 1 and 2. This is symbolic of male and female, the two opposites. The card itself is numbered 2, indicating its female nature. Also, “B” as Boaz and “J” as Jachin were two copper, brass or bronze pillars which stood in the porch of Solomon’s Temple, the first Temple in Jerusalem. The pillars bore decorations of brass lilies, the lillies are very frequent motif in the Major Arcana. The High Priestess is holding a scroll of knowledge, but only part of it is showed, at least a part of knowledge is hidden.” (

“She has the lunar crescent at her feet, a horned diadem on her head, with a globe in the middle place, and a large solar cross on her breast. The scroll in her hands is inscribed with the word Tora, signifying the Greater Law, the Secret Law and the second sense of the Word. It is partly covered by her mantle, to shew that some things are implied and some spoken. She is seated between the white and black pillars–J. and B.–of the mystic Temple, and the veil of the Temple is behind her: it is embroidered with palms and pomegranates. The vestments are flowing and gauzy, and the mantle suggests light–a shimmering radiance. She has been called occult Science on the threshold of the Sanctuary of Isis, but she is really the Secret Church, the House which is of God and man. She represents also the Second Marriage of the Prince who is no longer of this world; she is the spiritual Bride and Mother, the daughter of the stars and the Higher Garden of Eden. She is, in fine, the Queen of the borrowed light, but this is the light of all. She is the Moon nourished by the milk of the Supernal Mother. In a manner, she is also the Supernal Mother herself–that is to say, she is the bright reflection. It is in this sense of reflection that her truest and highest name in bolism is Shekinah–the co-habiting glory. According to Kabalism, there is a Shekinah both above and below. In the superior world it is called Binah, the Supernal Understanding which reflects to the emanations that are beneath. In the lower world it is MaIkuth–that world being, for this purpose, understood as a blessed Kingdom that with which it is made blessed being the Indwelling Glory. Mystically speaking, the Shekinah is the Spiritual Bride of the just man, and when he reads the Law she gives the Divine meaning. There are some respects in which this card is the highest and holiest of the Greater Arcana. – The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, by A.E. Waite

Arch of Triumph, 9/23 False Sign and the Two Pillars

August 21st: Famine for the Word

I had recently read something that had caught my attention. It was along the lines of people not wanting to hear truth anymore because they are so caught up in man made doctrines. The doctrine of the “rapture” whether its pre, mid or post has done so much harm that it has not only caused a huge division in Christianity (or so its called) but there seems to be a rage or anger that comes over people who are in disagreement with their views. Most of you that take the time to read these papers have witnessed this first hand.

The entire belief and maybe I can say man made doctrine of September 23rds Revelation 12 connection is based entirely on a pre-tribulation rapture view. This is where this false sign emits from. The Great Latin Escape. I have been saying all year that this year of 5777 is a year of seperation and by this I mean that God is seperating the sheep from the goats. It is a time of harvest and the winnowing is taking place to see who is actually watching for the real signs. Who actually has there lamps full and who doesn’t?

This leads me to this “great eclipse” in August. Let me say this first, I believe God has His own order in the sense that everything that is done in the physical will happen first spiritually. This is where discernment comes into play and the phrase “those who have eyes to see and ears to hear” might carry a stronger meaning. Now back to August. An eclipse is when the moon goes in front of the Sun and brings darkness for a certain amount of time in a certain area. It literally covers the light right? I believe this symbolism of this eclipse that stretches across the United States, that just so happens to start at the 33rd state (Oregon) and ends on the 33rd parallel (South Carolina), is representing the spiritual blindness that is upon the United States. And occultists believe that the number 33 represents the highest degree of spiritual achievement and the physical symbol is the “Third eye” or the all seeing eye. And don’t forget that these 9/23 rapturists make it known about this 33 conection. They made sure to let everyone know that August 21st is also 33 days prior to September 23rd.

“If a life is taken close to the northern 33rd Parallel, this fits with the Masons’ demonic mythology in which they demonstrate their worldly power by spilling human blood at a predetermined locale.” [“Masons and Mystery At The 33rd Parallel”, by Day Williams]

It may be safe to say that an eclipse can cause not only a physical darkness but also be symbolism of a spiritual darkness. This goes hand in hand with a spiritual famine during the time of harvest for actually not hearing (not just listening, there is a difference) the Word of God. It seems like this is what we have been seeing all year and it just seems to be getting worse and people are becoming more hateful and angrier. As August 21st comes closer its seems to be getting more intense. Atleast in my opinion.

This brings us to Amos 8. I want you to read it and keep in mind everything I just said. And please, do not think that I am saying that Amos 8 is some fulfillment with the United States alone but what I am speculating is that we are seeing a type and shadow of Amos 8 with the United States on August 21st.

Amos 8

1  Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit. 2  And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more. 3  And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast themforth with silence. 4  Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, 5  Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? 6  That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? 7  The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. 8  Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. 9  And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: 10  And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. 11  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12  And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. 13  In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. 14  They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

Amos wrote this to Israel at the time of their physical harvest. They knew the physical connotations of what he was saying but I do wonder if they realized the spiritual ramifications to what was being said here. They were to have a famine not only physically but spiritually and this is what was being said. Now fast forward to today. We aren’t seeing a physical famine as of yet in the United States but there is definitely a spiritual famine sweeping across the land. Take a closer look at verse 9-11 (and notice the significance of the numbers of 911).

11  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Now I want to be careful with what I’m saying because I want to stress that I’m not saying this is a fulfillment of these verses. I’m saying that it is very interesting with what is actually going on here. In verse 9 it talks about the Sun going down in the day and bring about darkness. I’m not saying this is a eclipse because the wording of it alludes to the Sun actually setting. I just find the application here to what Amos is saying, a lot like what we are seeing in the very near future pn August 21st. Then Amos mentions how God will turn their feasts into mourning. Now please tell me, what feast is September 23rd falling on this year? Need I say anymore?

He then goes on to connect all of this to the time of the harvest and a famine from hearing the Word of God. And who is the Word that became flesh? Jesus. The 9/23 rapture cult claims they are watching but they aren’t hearing or listening for that matter. They are completely blinded from hearing what the Word is saying. They deny that the sign of Revelation 12 has anything to do with the birth of Jesus and impart themselves into this scripture as these pious church folk to be raptured from harms way. They are doing more harm exegetically than good.

Now I want you to look at the LXX and Polyglot Greek of what Amos was saying in this verse.

Notice the Strongs definition of the Greek word limos which is famine. It specifically says a “scarcity of harvest”. I believe as far as the United States goes that this is what we are seeing…a famine in hearing the Word of God today is caused by the scarcity of this harvest. Now look at the word that limos is associated with that deals with destitution. Leipo literally means to be left behind. Doesn’t this sound like a famous movie and books by the same name that promotes false doctrine? The irony definetly isn’t lost on that one.

So with all that said, I do believe that there is a connection to this August eclipse, seperation in the sense of a harvest and a famine in hearing the Word of God. I may be wrong but I’d rather stear clear of all this false doctrine and stay on the safe side.

The Foolish (Moros) Things

(This was originally published in February of 2007. I have tried to keep the integrity of the original paper but I have decided to edit a few things and add a little more to it. You will see these additions in italics.)

People who are born and raised in Taft usually have a pretty good idea of the history of Taft and what it is all about. We all know Taft is known for two things: 1) oil and 2) drugs. Since I can remember, Taft has been the crank capital (per capita) of the United States, if not the world for many years now. It doesn’t take a genius to see that there has been a drug problem (specifically methamphetamines or crank) in this town since the 1970’s. Before the crank ‘epidemic’ started in the United States, Taft was the birthplace. According to the History of Taft, from its birth, the city was filled with roughnecks, prostitution, gambling and alcoholism. And this was just the beginning of Taft. Stories over the years of the Klu Klux Klan having ceremonies on 25 Hill and Satanists doing rituals on 25 Hill are in fact truth, not fiction. Back in the 70’s and 80’s, it is well known that the Hells Angels were known to frequent this town. A well known hang out for this group was the Office Bar which burnt down in the early 90’s.

To outsiders, Taft is known as a racist hick town where everyone does dope. I will also mention that there is a acronym for TAFT. I won’t spell it out for you because I think you can figure it out, They All F***ing Tweek. To this day, people who live in the coastal area, people from Bakersfield and as far as Fresno look down on us and consider people from Taft white trash. I lived in Washington State in 1991 and people knew of Taft for its crank and oilfields. Before I had gotten saved, I was very proud to be from Taft because of its rough history, but when I came to the knowledge of GOD through His Son Jesus Christ, my heart and mind had changed. I started to see everything differently. The history of Taft is not something to be offended at but it is something that we, as Christians, can change. Through prayer and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus I believe this city can change. Let Him use us as His hands and feet. Are we not part of the Body of Christ?

The Pharmakeia Spirit

My personal opinion is that there is what is called a ‘pharmakeia spirit’ that has been covering this town since its conception. Look in the Book of Revelation and get a concordance to see exactly what I am talking about. The ‘pharmakeia spirit’ is a spirit of drugs and addiction and it is where we get our English word “pharmacy’ which comes from this Greek word. The word also insinuates it is a covering spirit that entwines and is used in magic. It sounds very familiar to bondage doesn’t it? Here is what Strong’s says about the word:

Here is what Albert Barnes says about the word ‘pharmakeia’ –
“Nor of their sorceries – The word rendered “sorceries” – φαρμακεία pharmakeia – whence our word “pharmacy,” means properly “the preparing and giving of medicine,” Eng. “pharmacy” (Robinson’s Lexicon). Then, as the art of medicine was supposed to have magical power, or as the persons who practiced medicine, in order to give themselves and their art greater importance, practiced various arts of incantation, the word came to be connected with the idea of magic sorcery, or enchantment. See Schleusner, Lexicon. In the New Testament the word is never used in a good sense, as denoting the preparation of medicine, but always in this secondary sense, as denoting sorcery, magic, etc. Thus, in Gal_5:20, “the works of the flesh – idolatry, witchcraft,” etc. Rev_9:21, “of their sorceries.” Rev_18:23, “for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.” Rev_21:8, “Whoremongers, and sorcerers.” The word does not elsewhere occur in the New Testament; and the meaning of the word would be fulfilled in anything that purposed to accomplish an object by sorcery, by magical arts, by trick, by cunning, by sleight of hand, or “by deceiving the senses in any way.” Thus, it would be applicable to all jugglery and to all pretended miracles.” (Barnes Notes on Revelation)

It is obvious that Satan is behind this spirit or in fact the originator of this spirit. According to Ezekiel 28:14, this is a scripture about Lucifer or his fallen title, Satan.
Eze 28:14 Thou859 art the anointed4473 cherub3742 that covereth;5526 and I have set5414 thee so:
From this verse we can see that Satan was and still is, even in this present world, the ‘anointed cherub that covereth’. Let’s all remember that Satan is the god of this world that Paul speaks about in 2 Corinthians 4:4.

“There can be no doubt that Satan is here designated by this appellation; though some of the fathers supposed that it means the true God, and Clarke inclines to this opinion. In Joh_12:31, he is called “the prince of this world.” In Eph_2:2, he is called “the prince of the power of the air.” And in Eph_6:12, the same bad influence is referred to under the names of “principalities, and powers,” “the rulers of the darkness of this world,” and “spiritual wickedness in high places.” The name “god” is here given to him, not because he has any divine attributes, but because he actually has the homage of the people of this world as their god, as the being who is really worshipped, or who has the affections of their hearts in the same way as it is given to idols.” – (Barnes Notes on Ezekiel)

Let’s look at the Hebrew words for ‘anointed’ and ‘covereth’.

This is obviously the type of ‘principality’ that is over this area. Not only over this area but I believe this is a spirit over the entire United States. And according to Revelation 9:21 and 18:23, the people of this world did not repent of their “drug use” and were deceived by these “drugs’” until the very end. By knowing all of this, it should be no surprise that our government is making the use of illegal drugs ok, as long as they monitor them. For years, heroin has been given to addicts by the government in order to help there sickness from coming off of the drug, along with methadone clinics (which is a controlled synthetic heroin). The U.S. government is in talks now to legalize all drugs.

In 2006, Mexico legalized all drugs. As of the last year, the County of Kern has made Marijuana legal for “those who need it for medical use”, by having at least six ‘shops’ set up in the County. They go under the name ‘RX Natures Medicinal Inc.’ which is in compliance with ‘Compassionate Use Act of 1996 and SB 420’. And it’s all done under the name of ‘Medical Use’. Or should we say ‘Pharmakeia Use’? As of January 2007, the Taft City Council is seriously entertaining the thought of having a ‘marijuana clinic’ set up in Taft. (As I revisit this paper, the Taft City Council never approved a clinic but ironically as of August 1st 2017 they are seriously rethinking their position.) Now is that really a solution to a epidemic problem that Taft has had since its birth? What’s next? The legalization of crank done under the false pretense of ‘for medical use only’? Doesn’t anyone believe in deliverance anymore? I do!

Here is an excerpt from the section Biblical Studies referring to the pharmakeia spirit from my paper ‘The Islamic Connection’ on pages 41-42, “What is so interesting is that there have been reports that when drugs come from Mexico to the U.S., the drug lords cast spells or perform witchcraft rituals over the drugs being sent. We shouldn’t be surprised at this, seeing the bondage that people are under from doing drugs! Also, reports have said 90% of the opium (heroin) in the world comes from Afghanistan, a Muslim country. Here are a few facts about Afghanistan: 31 million people live there, the average age of life expectancy is 43 years old, the average yearly income is $250 and the unemployment rate is 44%. According to news sources on 11/1/06, the price for marijuana sales in Israel have had an 800% increase since the 34 Day War with Lebanon. Israel officials say that the marijuana that was in their nation and is continuing to come into their nation is coming from Lebanon and Lebanese Distributors.” Oh , by the way, marijuana isn’t called the ‘gateway drug’ for no reason and if you talk to someone who has been ‘ate up’ on dope/crank before, they will tell you that crank is the ‘devils drug’ and when you stay up long enough you will see shadow people, i.e., demons. Come on people, let’s not be blind to the facts!

(Once again the irony can’t be lost here. As of 8/1/17 the herion epidemic has gotten worse in Taft. And the thieving has worked hand in hand with the drug use.) Here is a recent article from the February 2-4 weekend edition of the Daily Midway Driller. According to this article there is now a rise in the use of heroin, again.

Heroin makes a comeback – OxyContin addicts using drug to avoid withdrawal pain

By Doug Keeler, Midway Driller Editor

People addicted to a powerful pain medicine are turning to an older substitute when they run out of their drug of choice. That’s why local law enforcement officers are seeing an upswing in heroin use in the Taft area. Heroin is used to prevent the painful withdrawal from OxyContin the commonly used brand-name for the drug oxycodone, said Kern County Sheriff’s Sgt. Martin Downs, commander of the Taft substation. The increasing prevalence of heroin in the area was underscored in early January when deputies seized nearly an ounce of tar heroin when they conducted a probation search at a Taft home. OxyContin is a synthetic opiate used as a painkiller for the most severe pain and is often prescribed to a cancer patient. Downs estimated there about 50 addicts in the Taft area, are using up to three tablets a day. He said the usual dosage for pain relief is one pill per day. The addiction can be very expensive. It costs $40 per pill on the street, so an addict can need more than $100 per day to support a habit. It is a highly addictive, Downs said, and addicts go through severe withdrawal if they run out of it. “The withdrawals are some of the most severe I’ve ever seen,” Downs said. “It’s like the worst case of the flu multiplied 50 times.” When taken in tablet form, OxyContin’s pain-killing active ingredients are released slowly. But when addicts take the pills, they place them in their mouth to suck the coating off them, then grind up the medicine and snort it to get the OxyContin into their systems as rapidly as possible. “It’s not time-release. It’s immediate,” the sergeant said. But when the drug wears off, they need another dosage or the withdrawal sets in. That’s where the heroin comes in. Heroin is a derivative of opium and the drug stops the severe withdrawal from the OxyContin. “It’s so debilitating they’ll do anything to alleviate those symptoms,” Downs said. He said the oxycodone addicts were probably the people who would buy the heroin, like the drug officers seized on Jan. 5. Deputies, accompanied by a drug-sniffing dog, Rocco, and his handler, Deputy Darrin Grantham, went to 129 Oak Street about 2:30 that day to conduct a probation search. During the search, Rocco signaled that he detected drugs in a jacket hanging in a closet in the master bedroom, Downs said. A search located just over 19 grams of Mexican tar heroin, he said. Deputies arrested the resident, Diane Witzig, 29. The case has been turned over to the Kern County District Attorney, who is expected to file possession for sale charges, according to Downs. Witzig is currently free on bail.

(In the 10 years that I originally wrote this paper nothing had changed. And in the last 4 year’s the drug use and thieves has gotten significantly worse. There are no drug rehabilitation programs that will change these people or their ways. The only way we as a community will see change, is through the power of prayer and deliverance and this comes from Jesus Christ alone.)

The History of Taft

With all of this said, I would like to go deeper into the “authorized’ history of Taft. No one should be ashamed of what I am going to say because we are not the ‘founding fathers’ of this town but we are still Taftians. We are now only dealing with what was started 100 years ago. And besides that, Taft should be at the bottom of the list of the things we are proud of, and Jesus Christ should be at the top of our lists. In order for the city of Taft to change we all need to make Jesus number one in all facets of our lives.

I am now going to quote a few paragraphs from the Midway Driller Insert Tabloid Edition of Oildorado 2005, The Official Taft Oildorado 2005 Book and A History of Early Taft California by Larry Peahl and Pete Gianopolous so those who aren’t from here can get a better understanding of why this town has become the way it is.

“Taft was a boisterous, rowdy town in the beginning with the oil workers working 12 hours shifts – long before the eight-hour day came along. Consequently, there were people in the downtown area 24 hours per day as the oil workers worked their shifts in the oil patch. Saloons were plentiful in the business district. Gambling went on all day and all night. Restaurants never closed, staying open to feed the hungry oil workers at all hours of the day. Bootleggers plied their trade around the outskirts of the community. Taft was a great sports town. Special arenas were built for boxing matches. One could find a boxing match in one of the many arenas almost every night. They were very popular events and were usually packed.”
(Midway Driller Insert Tabloid Edition of Oildorado 2005, p. 19)

“The railroad, which owned most of the land where Taft was built, subdivided and called the place Moro, but this name was not acceptable to the US Post Office. The railroad in its “infinite wisdom,” decided that the solution would be to add an “N” to the disgust of its citizens. The people in Taft pronounced it Mo-RON, with the emphasis on the last syllable. It wasn’t until years later that the railroad changed the name of its depot following the name given to the newly incorporated city, and it became Taft, named after the President of the United States. The city grew.”
(The Official Taft Oildorado 2005 Book, p.32)

“Having owned this land since 1875, the Southern Pacific, established their first town site by laying out Main, Center and North streets between Second and Sixth streets. This are contained seven blocks and was designated as the “Town of Moron” by the railroad.”
“The name Moron, chosen by the railroad form the outset, was said to have come from Moro, possibly the Moro Pool Hall. To eliminate confusion with Moro Bay on the coast, an “n” was added. It was pronounced “more-ON”, but undoubtedly evoked smirks and indignation from its obvious reference to ones mentality.”
(A History of Early Taft California by Larry Peahl and Pete Gianopolous, p.5)

“April 22, 1909 is listed as the date the Taft Post Office was established. He (Harry Hopkins) later told the following story about the naming of Taft.
‘However in due time the post office was established and the next thing to do was to name it. Out of over 50 names the department could not select one that situated them. we had every name that any human ever thought of. At last in desperation I went to Bakersfield to see the postmaster there. As Edmonds and I sat at his desk we saw President Taft’s picture on it and both at once turned and said Taft. So Taft it was and Taft it is and will always be.’
(A History of Early Taft California by Larry Peahl and Pete Gianopolous, p.7)

In the Thursday edition of The Bakersfield Californian, April 29, 1909, a story about the Taft post office says the the Washington “Postal Service Says Taft” is the name of the town:
“Official authorities in Washington decided that Taft is to be the name of the new Midway town. Moro, Moron, and several other names have been suggested and adopted for a time, but it is now understood that the postal service will hereafter recognize Taft as the right name of the town. Harry Hopkins is the post master.”
Until recent years the position of postmaster was an appointive position distributed by patronage by the political party in office at the time, and, quite often, the appointment was made through the local congressman. It was thought that the postmaster had political power in the local area and a political advantage; hence, the political party in power at the time made the appointment.

It is interesting to note that the President of the United States made a visit to Bakersfield while on a long train trip across the United States. His train trip took him into the northwest and southward through the San Joaquin Valley, eventually through Yosemite and then southward to Bakersfield.
His visit to Bakersfield was on Sunday, October 10, 1909, and he was greeted by 6000 to 7000 people, who crowded the Southern Pacific Railroad station in “Kern”, which was the name for East Bakersfield in those days. The train pulled into the station at exactly 10:02 p. m., according to The Bakersfield Californian, on Monday, October II, 1909.
The crowd began to arrive in the morning
“On cars, in autos, wagons, carriages and on motorcycles, bicycles and afoot. The crowd came from surrounding towns and cities and a large part of it arrived from the far countryside. Hay wagons, laden with precious human freight, toiled over the roads leading to town all yesterday and there were picnic parties that made the day a holiday and camped out, awaiting the President’s coming.”

“While the crowd yelled it self hoarse, the President, was accompanied by the local reception committee composed of H. A. Jastro, A. Weill and S. C. Smith.

“Preceding the President’s coming, rockets and bombs had been set off in the street beside the station. And while the President was waiting on the platform erected for the occasion, the fireworks continued and the hiss of rockets and the boom of the bombs punctuated his address.”
After his speech (no microphones in those days) the President was escorted to the train where he stood on the rear, once again. Waiving and smiling to the crowd. Shortly thereafter, the train began to pull out of the station and the President stood
“On the back platform, smiling and smiling and smiling, speaking to the people who spoke to him, hurling joke for joke, until the smile faded into the night and the great man was gone.”
Reading about the early days of the West Side, there are many accounts of travel back and forth from Taft to Bakersfield and from Bakersfield to Taft to attend meetings. It would be a surprise to the writer if the West Side was not represented by some of its dignitaries in Bakersfield to see the President of the United States.
During the 1935 birthday celebration of the incorporation of the City of Taft, Harry Hopkins, Taft’s first postmaster wrote a letter to the publisher of the Daily Midway Driller, and it appeared in the paper on November 8, 1935.
He wrote in part,
“The writer having the distinct honor, as first Postmaster of Taft, to secure an acceptable name for the Post Office in the city has always been proud of the time, the beloved, peace-loving, brilliant former President William Howard Taft, at the height of his glory was the incentive by which his name was selected and adopted by the postal authorities.”
In another article in the Midway Driller of February 26, 1910, the issue of the name of the town came up with the headlines reading
“Which is the name of your town, ‘Taft or Moron’ is the query asked by nearly every stranger who visits here. A definite answer is seldom given.”
(The History of The Taft Post Office and The Naming Of Taft By Pete Gianopulos)

“Several members of the Coalinga Masonic Lodge decided to establish a lodge in Taft after moving here in 1911. On November 1 the Midway Lodge No. 426 was chartered. The Taft Order of the Eastern Star followed in May 1915.”
(A History of Early Taft California by Larry Peahl and Pete Gianopolous, p.12)

“In 1923 the three-story Masonic Temple was also constructed at 521 North Street, the tallest building in Taft at the time. It was originally planned as a two-story structure, but a week after the cornerstone was laid, they decided to add a third story. the Taft Chapter of Royal Arch Mason was chartered there in May 1924.”
(A History of Early Taft California by Larry Peahl and Pete Gianopolous, p.29-30)

“One of Taft’s darker chapters opened in the fall of 1921 when the Klu Klux Klan emerged. Disguised in their white hoods and robes, members of the Taft Klan No. 3 were reported to have taken some citizens out and beaten, tarred and oiled, and feathered them. At least a dozen people were run out of town including several women. Other attacks were reported, particularly against bootleggers and others of questionable morals. Former Taft Marshall, J.N.Pyles now running a detective agency in Bakersfield, was called in to help break up the Klan. On April 17, he was badly beaten when he encountered a group of 75 to 100 Klansmen in a canyon outside of town. A few days later, a raid was conducted on the Grand Goblin of the Klan in Los Angeles netting a list of 1,090 Klansmen. On May 8, the Daily Midway Driller, in spite of threats from the Klan, published a list of 132 names of local members identified by the Klan. The list included chairman of the Kern County Board of Supervisors Stanley Abel; Taft Mayor Henry C. McClain; Trustees J.M. Higgins and Herbert V. Hearle; Justice of the Peace George M. Cook; City Clerk C.Z. Irvine; former city marshal Porter Munsey, who had just resigned, current city marshal Roscoe C. Steele, and others, many of them prominent citizens. Many of those named published statements saying they had joined more than a year before or had merely made a small donation when they knew little about the Klan. A number of resignations from the Klan were also published. But Stanley Abel published a statement acknowledging his membership, and further praising the Klan for their good work in ridding Taft of undesirable elements, adding that working with authorities had not produced results, and that he made no apology for the Klan. It was then revealed that the board of trustees, with four Klan members, had hired Steele, sight unseen, from Santa Barbara where he was a Klan member. Three days after his appointment on May 1 he deputized ten Klan members enabling them to carry guns. Steele, along with trustees Higgins and assistant fire chief Padrick resigned on May 26. It was also revealed that McClain, who was just appointed mayor on April 17, and Cook, were both seen that same night at the meeting where Pyles was beaten. In another incident in October 1921, a local Dr. D.R. Mason was taken to the Taft Ball Park and hung by his neck until he was almost unconscious. A local contractor and Klan member John H. Vitelle was later found guilty of assault on Dr. Mason and sentenced to San Quentin. In April 1923, he prevailed in a successful appeal based on a prejudiced juror and was released. The Taft Klan No. 3 announced it was disbanded on June 16, 1922, but many in the community didn’t believe it.”

The Masonic-Klan-Moron Connection
William Howard Taft (September 15, 1857 – March 8, 1930) was an American politician, the 27th President of the United States, the 10th Chief Justice of the United States, a leader of the progressive conservative wing of the Republican Party in the early 20th century, a chaired professor at Yale Law School, a pioneer in international arbitration, and a staunch advocate of world peace that verged on pacifism (although the pacifists of his time did not call him one of their own).
Taft served as Solicitor General of the United States, a federal judge, Governor-General of the Philippines, and Secretary of War before being nominated for President in the 1908 Republican National Convention with the backing of his predecessor and close friend Theodore Roosevelt.
Upon leaving the White House in 1913, Taft was appointed Kent Professor of Constitutional Law at Yale Law School. The same year, he was elected president of the American Bar Association. He spent much of his time writing newspaper articles and books, most notably his series on American legal philosophy. He was a vigorous opponent of prohibition in the United States. He also continued to advocate world peace through international arbitration, urging nations to enter into arbitration treaties with each other and promoting the idea of a League of Nations even before the First World War began.

Chief Justice Taft with President Warren G. Harding and former Secretary of War Robert Todd Lincoln c. 1922.
When World War I did break out in Europe in 1914, however, Taft founded the League to Enforce Peace. He was co-chair of the powerful National War Labor Board between 1917 and 1918. Although he continually advocated peace, he strongly favored conscription once the United States entered the conflict, pleading publicly that the United States not fight a “finicky” war. He feared the war would be long, but was for fighting it out to a finish, given what he viewed as “Germany’s brutality.”
Evidence from eyewitnesses and from Taft himself strongly suggests that he had severe obstructive sleep apnea during his presidency, a consequence of his 300- to 340-pound (136- to 159-kg) weight. His legendary tendency to fall asleep in almost any circumstance, an open secret and source of embarrassment for his intimates, is now understood to have been the most obvious manifestation of the disease. Within a year of leaving the Presidency, Taft lost approximately 80 pounds (32 kg). His somnolence resolved and, less obviously, his systolic blood pressure dropped 40-50 mmHg (from 210 mmHg). Undoubtedly, this weight loss extended his life.

In religious beliefs, Taft was a Unitarian. He once remarked, “I do not believe in the divinity of Christ, and there are many other of the postulates of the orthodox creed to which I cannot subscribe.”

“On February 18, 1909, the President-elect was made a Mason “at sight” by Ohio Grand Master Charles S. Hoskinson at an “Occasional Lodge” called for that purpose in Cincinnati’s Scottish Rite Cathedral. That same evening he visited Kilwinning Lodge No. 356, Cincinnati, and watched the conferral of a Third Degree. On April 14 he became a member of that Lodge. The making of the President-elect a Mason “at sight” drew criticisms, predominately from states where Grand Masters were not allowed this function. The Menace, an anti-Catholic periodical, published an article by one Walter Hurt, supposedly of Cincinnati, entitled, “Taft – A 35 Minute Mason.” It attacked Taft as pro-Catholic and under strong Catholic influence.”
“Taft made many Masonic visitations and assisted in cornerstone layings. On May 9, 1911, the President posed wearing the Watson and Cassoul apron of George Washington and holding the trowel Washington used in laying the cornerstone of the Capitol. He was a life member of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association. On November 1, 1923, he assisted in the cornerstone laying of the Memorial using the Washington trowel. Also in attendance with the Chief Justice was the new President Calvin Coolidge.”

“About a year before he had became a presidential candidate, Taft, who was then Secretary of War, indicated a desire to become a Mason. His wish was realized two weeks before his inauguration on March 4, 1909, when the Grand Master of Masons of Ohio, Charles S. Hoskinson, made him a Mason “at sight” in Kilwinning Lodge No. 365, Cincinnati, Ohio.”

Albert Pike (b. December 29, 1809, Boston – d. April 2, 1891, Washington, D.C.) was an attorney, soldier, writer, and Freemason. Pike is the only Confederate military officer or figure to be honored with a statue in Washington, D.C. The statue sits in Judiciary Square.
He had in the interim joined a Masonic lodge and become extremely active in the affairs of the organization, being elected Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite’s Southern Jurisdiction in 1859. He remained Sovereign Grand Commander for the remainder of his life (a total of thirty-two years), devoting a large amount of his time to developing the rituals of the order. Notably, he published a book called Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in 1871, of which there were several subsequent editions.
“He died in the “first” House of the Temple in Washington, D.C., at eight o’clock in the evening on April 2, 1891, the fourth month of his 81st year. Thus passed from this life the all-time Goliath of Freemasonry.” ALBERT PIKE AND FREEMASONRY, March-April 2002 edition, California Freemason On-Line
Here are some references which prove that Albert Pike was part of the KKK, and that the KKK and Freemasonry were intrinsically linked.
Ku Klux Klan: Its Origin, Growth, and Disbandment
It was in 1905 that the Neale Publishing Company, New York and Washington, published Ku Klux Klan: Its Origin, Growth and Disbandment, written and edited by Walter L. Fleming, incorporating earlier published material by J.C. Lester and D.L. Wilson. Historian Walter Fleming’s introduction to this 1905 book explains that he has been given “information in regard to Ku Klux Klan, by many former members of the order, and by their friends and relatives.” Dr. Fleming states that “General Albert Pike, who stood high in the Masonic order, was the chief judicial officer of the Klan.” On a page of illustrations of important founders of the KKK, Dr. Fleming places General Pike’s portrait in the center, makes it larger than the six others on the page, and repeats this information as a caption: “General Albert Pike, chief judicial officer”. Dr. Fleming attaches as an appendix to his book, a KKK “prescript” or secret constitution which had then recently been discovered. This document sets forth the regulations of the Klan’s “judiciary”‘ department, over which Albert Pike ruled. This is the internal disciplinary or counterintelligence department. It also corresponds to Pike and the Klan’s influence over the regular court system and the legal profession in the post-civil War southern states.
As the boss of all the southern secret societies and simultaneously president of the Tennessee Bar Association, Pike was the grand strategist of Klan “justice.” It is to be stressed that Walter Fleming’s book was not a slander or hatchet job against Albert Pike. Though it revealed much important data for the first time, it placed the KKK and Pike in the most favorable possible light. The book was a hit among diehard Confederates and Anglo-Saxon “race patriots,” and it launched Fleming’s career as the dean of southern historians. Fleming became the leading apologist for the KKK, and was the father of the modern historical line that Reconstruction was a corrupt oppression of the South. In September 1903, Fleming had written in the Journal of the Southern History Association: “The very need for such an organization in the disordered conditions of the time caused the Dens [KKK local units] to begin to exercise the duties of a police patrol for regulating the conduct of thieving and impudent negroes and similar “loyal’ whites….” Dr. Fleming’s biases have not hurt his reputation with established authorities. The National Cyclopedia of American Biography calls his 1905 Ku Klux Klan history “an authoritative account of that organization.” The Dictionary of American Biography states bluntly: “Fleming covered the Civil War and Reconstruction in the South more fully than any other man. His works are characterized by … scholarly objective. A Southerner, Fleming wrote of the sectional conflict with Southern sympathies yet he was more objective than most Southerners of his generation. The historiography of the Civil War and Reconstruction owes much to his indefatigable research, his breadth of scholarship, and power of interpretation.” Basing his career on his defense of Pike’s KKK, Fleming became dean of arts and sciences at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Pike’s Tennessee Klan Command
It was in Nashville that Albert Pike and other Confederate generals met in 1867 to form a southern states-wide terrorist KKK, expanding the little project they had started two years before in Pulaski, Tenn. The organization he formed in Nashville designated Pike its chief judiciary officer, and its Grand Dragon for Arkansas.
As owner-publisher of the Memphis, Tennessee, Daily Appeal, Albert Pike wrote in an editorial on April 16, 1868:
“With negroes for witnesses and jurors, the administration of justice becomes a blasphemous mockery. A Loyal League of negroes can cause any white man to be arrested, and can prove any charges it chooses to have made against him. …The disenfranchised people of the South … can find no protection for property, liberty or life, except in secret association…. We would unite every white man in the South, who is opposed to negro suffrage, into one great Order of Southern Brotherhood, with an organization complete, active, vigorous, in which a few should execute the concentrated will of all, and whose very existence should be concealed from all but its members.”
(A copy of that issue of Pike’s paper may be viewed at the Library of Congress, as may the books mentioned in this article.)
But it was as the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite, and the recognized boss of the southern white masonic order, that Pike exercised the great clandestine power that welded the KKK together. Dr. Walter Fleming designates Confederate Major James R. Crowe as the pre-eminent source for his 1905 KKK History, and describes Crowe as one of the original KKK founders in Pulaski. Fleming says that Major Crowe “held high rank in the Masonic order.” In his honor roll of “well-known members of the Klan,” Dr. Fleming places “General John C. Brown, of Pulaski, Tennessee” and “Colonel Joseph Fussell, of Columbia, Tennessee.”
General Brown and Colonel Fussell, like Major Crowe, are identifiable as soldiers of Albert Pike’s masonic order. General Brown had been a master mason in the Pulaski lodge for 15 years when the KKK was formed there, and became grand master of Tennessee Masons and governor of Tennessee during the Klan’s era of power. Colonel Fussell was commandant of Tennessee’s masonic Knights Templar during the Klan rule. The preceding masonic information is taken from Tennessee Templars: A Register of Names with Biographical Sketches of the Knights Templar of Tennessee by James D. Richardson. This James D. Richardson was himself the Commandant of Knights Templar and Grand Master of Masons in Tennessee, and was speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives during the era of the Klan power. This same James D. Richardson was Albert Pike’s successor as commander of the southern Scottish Rite masons. It was this same Richardson who ordered the Pike statue to be erected in Washington, D.C. It was Richardson who, as a U.S. congressman from Tennessee, introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives the infamous 1898 resolution: It called for the federal government to provide federal land to Richardson’s masonic organization, on which to put up their statue honoring the master strategist of KKK terror.
The KKK on Parade
Susan Lawrence Davis’s 1924 Authentic History, Ku Klux Klan, 1865-1877, repeats the pattern Fleming created in 1905, revealing Pike’s KKK role but treating him and the Klan sympathetically. The Davis book was written to celebrate the new, 20th-century KKK, which was just then staging full-dress mass marches in Washington and northern cities such as Detroit. In her chapter on General Pike’s leadership of the Klan, Miss Davis applauds Pike’s clever stewardship of the KKK secret organization. She reproduces in her KKK history an oil portrait of Albert Pike given to her for the KKK book by Pike’s son.
The Tragic Era
The same is true of other book-length histories of the Klan and numerous published biographies of Albert Pike: Pike’s role as Klan leader or KKK boss of Arkansas is discussed, but treated as if KKK terrorist murder of African-Americans was “regrettable” but “only natural” and “understandable.” In his book, The Tragic Era, Claude Bowers, who served many years as the U.S. ambassador to Spain and to Chile, described Albert Pike as one of the handful of distinguished, respectable founders of the KKK and the Klan’s leader in Arkansas.
Bowers describes the KKK as patriotic southerners defending their way of life from out-of-control blacks and northerners.
Bowers wrote that much of the KKK’s alleged violence was actually perpetrated by Negroes disguised in Klan robes to wreak vengeance on other Negroes!
The Fiery Cross
“Prominent Southern gentlemen were later cited as state leaders of the Invisible Empire. Alabama claimed General John T. Morgan as Grand Dragon. Arkansas was headed by General Albert Pike, explorer and poet. North Carolina was led by former governor Zebulon Vance, and Georgia by General John B. Gordon, later a U.S. Senator.”

The Aryan’s
Albert Pike also wrote extensively on the mythical super-race of the Aryans, extolling their virtues, imagined history, and religion which he tried to show was the precursor of Freemasonry in is numerous Published Works. It would seem that Pike was a fellow traveler with Blavatsky on this subject. Fifty years later in Central Europe there will be others who will take up this mantle and use these writings as the basis for a ideology that curiously enough will also use the term ‘new world order’ to describe it’s agenda. Just a co-incidence of course.
History and Evolution of Freemasonry
A further useful quotation from Mr. Pike was also supplied by Mr. Bill Maddox, a Freemason on the Usenet group alt.freemasonry (and vigorously attacked for doing so by the resident “e-m@sons”).
“I took my obligations from white men, not from negroes. When I have to accept negroes as brothers or leave masonry, I shall leave it” – Albert Pike 33rd* (Delmar D. Darrah, History and Evolution of Freemasonry 1954, page 329. The Charles T Powner Co.)
A Critical Examination of Objections to the Legitimacy of the Masonry Existing Among the Negroes of America
On Bastille Day 2001 in response to a reference made in the usenet newsgroup alt.freemasonry to the page you are currently reading a mason once again attacked the above reference as being an “anti lie”.
He is then publically rebutted by a brother thusly:
Lee Duncan wrote in message
For example, there is a popular claim among “anti’s” that Pike said something resembling this: “I took my vows to white men, not Negroes…when I must call a Negroe ‘brother,’ I shall resign from Masonry.” Of course, Pike said no such thing. In reality, Pike was a great champion of Prince Hall (Negroe) Masonry.
For your consideration the full text of Pike’s letter follows as quoted in “A Critical Examination of Objections to the Legitimacy of the Masonry Existing Among the Negroes of America” by William H. Upton, 1902, p.214-15. My thanks to Brother Bennie for prompting me to scan the document because of his contribution.

Views of General ALBERT PIKE, Sovereign Grand Commander, A. & A. Scottish Rite. ALEXANDRIA, Va., 13th September, 1875.

My DEAR FRIEND AND BROTHER.-I can see as plainly as that the negro question is going to make trouble. Then plenty of regular negro Masons and negro lodges in South America and the West Indies, and our folks only stave of the question by saying that negro Masons here are clandestine. Prince Hall Lodge was as regular a Lodge as any lodge created by competent authority, and had a perfect right (as other lodges in Europe did) to establish other lodges, making itself a mother Lodge. That’s the way the Berlin lodges, Three Globes and Royal York, became Grand Lodges.

The Grand Orient of Haiti is as regular as any other. So is the Grand Orient of the Dominican Republic, which, I dare say, has negroes in it and negro lodges under it.

Again, if the negro lodges are not regular, they can easily get regularized. If our Grand Lodges won’t recognize negro lodges, they have the right to go elsewhere. The Grand Lodge can’t say to eight or more Masons, black or white, we will not give you a charter because you are negroes, or because you wish to work the Scottish Rite, and you shall not go elsewhere to get one. That latter part is bosh.

Hamburg recognizes the Grand Lodges. Yes, and so the German Grand Lodge Confederation is going to do, and so will the Grand Orient of France before long.

Of course, if negrophily continues to be the religion established by law of your States, there will be before long somewhere a beginning of recognition of negro lodges. Then the Royal Arch and Templar bodies of negroes must be taken in, and Masonry go down to their level. Will your plan work? I think not. I think there is no middle ground between rigid exclusion of negroes or recognition and affiliation with the whole mass.

If they are not Masons, how protect them as such or at all ? If they are Masons, how deny them affiliation or have two supreme powers in one jurisdiction.

I am not inclined to meddle in the matter. I took my obligations to white men, not to negroes. When I have to accept negroes as brothers or leave Masonry, I shall leave it.

I am interested to keep the Ancient and Accepted Rite uncontaminated, in our country at least, by the leprosy of negro association. Our Supreme Council can defend its jurisdiction, and it is the law-maker. There can not be a lawful body of that Rite in our jurisdiction unless it is created by us.

I am not so sure but that, what with immensity of numbers, want of a purpose worth laboring for, general indifference to obligations, pitiful charity and large expenses, fuss, feathers and fandango, big temples and large debts, Masonry is become a great helpless, inert mass that will some day, before long, topple over, and go under. If you wish it should, I think you can hasten the catastrophe by urging a protectorate of the negroes. Better let the thing drift. Après noun le, deluge.

Truly, yours,
The Knights of the Golden Circle
Brigadier General Albert Pike organized and lead the African Slave Owning Cherokee Indians in the Oklahoma Territory who were part of the Masonic Knights of the Golden Circle, in their own secret society called the Keetowah. Under Pikes Generalship this Brigade raped, pillaged, and murdered civilian communities in the Oklahoma and Missori Territories. For these “good works” Brother Albert became a Convicted War Criminal in a War Crimes Trial held after the Civil Wars end. Unfortunately the “Pope” and “Plato” of Freemasonry had to be tried in absentia because he had fled to British Territory in Canada. Second Generation British-American Pike has also been alledged to have been working for the Crown as an agent and key civil war agitator. Pike only returned to the U.S. after his hand picked Scottish Rite Succsessor James Richardon 33° got a pardon for him after, making President Johnson a 33° Scottish Mason in a ceremony held inside the White House itself! In fact given Mr. Pikes leadership roll in the Knights of the Golden Circle and the fact that the name Ku Klux Klan is a version of Circle (Kluklos) it seems pretty clear to most researchers who was higher up the secret society occult ladder and therefore more instrumental in the founding of the Klan – Mason/Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forest or Mason/Confederate General/ Knights of the Golden Circle Leader/British Agent/ Scottish Rite Supreme Council Head Albert Pike 33°.
In 1995 African-American and Anti-Racist Groups attempted to get Pike’s statue near the Federal Department of Justice Building in “Judiciary” Square taken down but were out lobbied by the Supreme Council 33°, who were able to successfully mobilize fellow Scottish Rite ‘travelling brethren’ inside the powerful ADL of the Grand Lodge of B’nai B’rith, who then told politicians and officials that no evidence existed for Pike’s involvement in the KKK.

“The American Party received impetus from “The Supreme Order of the Star-Spangled Banner” or the “Sons of the Sires of ’76,” a secret organization “of descendants of at least two generations of Americans.” Pike was attracted to a party whose slogan was “America for the Americans” as he was fearful of the large flux of immigrants that had occurred during the past three decades. “He resented the manners, habits, tastes, and usages of foreigners with whom he came in contact in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and other Eastern cities, and he had a genuine fear that allowing to many aliens and naturalized citizens to vote and to hold office was a serious threat to American institutions.”

“General Pike, editor of the Memphis Appeal, has been identified as the Klan’s attorney general and as a collaborator in drawing up its ritual. The [Klan] Prescript makes no provision for this office…Pike may well have been affiliated with the Klan, however. He was intrigued by secret societies and rituals, was a leading student and interpreter of Freemasonry, and sympathized with the Klan’s stated objectives.”

The Moros of this World
I say all of this to lay down a foundation. With what the devil meant for evil, the Lord GOD will turn it around for good. There is a word in Greek that is used in the New Testament that is translated in English as ‘foolish’. We should really pay attention to this word because this is from the word in which we get the original name of our town, Moron. The English word moron comes from the Greek word moros according to Webster’s Dictionary. Let’s take a look at what the Apostle Paul says to the Corinthians in the first part of his letter from verses 18-31.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”(KJV)

The word ‘foolishness’ or ‘foolish things’ in the Greek are this by definition:

From G3474; silliness, that is, absurdity: – foolishness.

Probably form the base of G3466; dull or stupid (as if shut up), that is, heedless, (morally) blockhead, (apparently) absurd: – fool (-ish, X -ishness).

And both words come from the Root Word,

Strong’s Concordance- G3466
From a derivative of μύω muo¯ (to shut the mouth); a secret or “mystery” (through the idea of silence imposed by initiation into religious rites): – mystery.

Thayers Lexicon- G3466
Thayer Definition:
1) hidden thing, secret, mystery
1a) generally mysteries, religious secrets, confided only to the initiated and not to ordinary mortals
1b) a hidden or secret thing, not obvious to the understanding
1c) a hidden purpose or counsel
1c1) secret will
1c1a) of men
1c1b) of God: the secret counsels which govern God in dealing with the righteous, which are hidden from ungodly and wicked men but plain to the godly
2) in rabbinic writings, it denotes the mystic or hidden sense
2a) of an OT saying
2b) of an image or form seen in a vision
2c) of a dream
Part of Speech: noun neuter
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from a derivative of muo (to shut the mouth)

In the context of this scripture these words in the original Greek mean that God reveals His hidden mysteries to the foolish or ‘moronic’ people of this world to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ, which is the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah. To the world, all that Jesus did for us is foolishness just like Paul says, but to us it is salvation. I’m not going to go through every scripture where these words are used but I will show you the verses so you can look them up for yourself.

I hope you can understand what I am trying to say here. We are the foolish things. We are the foolish town. To this world we are the most ridiculous people imagined. And this is not only in the sense of what GOD says in His word pertaining to preaching the Gospel, but in the true sense that in this area we live in, we are looked down upon, ridiculed, and called names for our history. I believe the reason why this town is in the mess it is in, is not because of Freemasonry or the Klan, but because of the force that drives both of these organizations, Satan. These organizations have been prevalent since the beginning of Taft or should I say Moron. I personally don’t think they (Freemasonry and the Klan) have helped this town at all, but have actually hurt this town in the spiritual sense. And I am not saying that men who are Freemasons are devils because I personally feel that the men in these organizations don’t actually have a clue in what they are involved in. And with that said, I don’t think that a Christian man who loves Jesus has any place in any of these organizations. If the world wants to do this, that is fine. But Christians should not. I am just telling you what I see, I believe Taft was founded on demonic principles (i.e., Freemasonry and the Klu Klux Klan) and the driving forces behind this town from the get go is demonic. GOD has called us Moron for a reason. I am proud to be called a fool for Christ’s sake and I will let this be known. We should look at this and feel honored that not only in a spiritual sense but in the physical we are the foolish things of this world. Let’s change this town through prayer and the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah. To GOD be the Glory!

1 Corinthians 2:2
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

I would like to thank Pastor David Daniel of Calvary Temple Assembly of God for sharing the teaching on ‘moros’ with the community when he taught this at a service that was aired on the Taft Channel 11.

A few thoughts on harpagēsometha and nilqah…the catching away

(These are just a few thoughts. I will keep revisiting this in the future.)

The Greek word that is used in 1st Thessalonians 4:17 for the catching away is ‘αρπαγησομεθα’, harpagēsometha. We all know this as the catching away but in some circles, people prefer the Latin term “rapture” over something that is Biblical. Harpazo is the root word that Strong’s gives you when looking at the numbering system. Most people don’t know but Strong’s just gives you the roots of words and there is nothing wrong with that. But in order to actually get to the “root” of the Greek or Hebrew word then you need to have a few more reliable resources available.

I thought I would look at the Hebrew translation of the New Testament to see what word they had used for this catching away. Now if we look at this same verse in Hebrew this is how it would look. It is read from right to left. “1Th 4:17 אחרי־כן אנחנו החיים הנותרים נלקח אתם יחדו בעננים לקראת האדון לאויר ובכן נהיה תמיד עם־האדון׃” This word in Hebrew is נִלְקָ֑ח nilqah (and is the Hebrew translation from the Greek word ‘αρπαγησομεθα’, harpagēsometha) and the root of this word in Hebrew is ‘lakad or laqach (transliteration)’. The spelling is נלקח but the root word is לקחH3947 which means “to take, lay hold of, receive, acquire, buy, marry, take a wife, snatch, take away”.

So as you can see there is a wide range for what this word can actually mean. I do like that it means to marry or take a wife which brings us to what harpagēsometha really represents. The bridegroom coming for His bride on the last day and having to pluck her from the fire. Its not the “rapture” in a modern evangelical prophetic sense.

Obviously this word in a Greek translation means “snatch off or away or carry by force”. When looking it up in Strong’s take a look at definition “e. 2.” in light of the normal definitions.

The Hebrew word nilqah can mean a flash of lightning. Now consider this. Some scholars believe that at the time of the Resurrection of Jesus, the glory of God that had rose Jesus from the dead was similiar to a flash of lightning. Do you get my point? This violent snatching away used in 1st Thessalonians 4:17 makes me think back to the Resurrection of Jesus (which by the way, the variation of the root word ‘harpazo’ – ἡρπάγη ērpagē is used in Revelation 12:5 and 2nd Corinthians 12:4). Now ‘ἡρπάγη’ ērpagē is very interesting in this context of Scriptures because Revelation refers to Jesus’ Resurrection and Corinthians refers to Paul being taken to the 3rd Heaven. Revelation 12:5 and Paul being taken to the 3rd Heaven are good examples of the catching away of those who are still alive at the time of Jesus’ second coming. This is the resurrection of the living and of those who sleep.

Now let’s get back to the Hebrew word נִלְקָ֑ח nilqah for a second. Here is what is interesting about the verse I found in the Old Testament with this same word ‘nilkákh or nilqah’ (נלקח). This word can be found in 1st Samuel 4:22 and is also found in 1st Samuel 4:11 and Ezekiel 33:6. When you go to 1st Samuel 4:21,22 it says this. “:the ark of God is taken (נלקח).” This is alluding to Phineas’ wife who was pregnant and near delivery when she heard that the ark of God was taken from Israel. This happened because of her father in law and husband. Now it’s also interesting because the way this word is used in three times in the Old Testament is in a negative connotation.

When you look at Ezekiel 33:6 it is referencing the watchman that doesn’t sound the trumpet to warn others that the sword is coming and he will be taken away in his iniquity. So we have a watchman who is supposed to be watching for a calamity that will come upon the people. As he warns the people, this allows those people who have watched or have been watching for the wrong things to take notice. And if they have been watching in the wrong direction than this gives them time to repent. Those watchman who don’t sound the trumpet will be taken away in their iniquity.

All of this just made me think about this false birthing sign of this “rapture” that these people have been anticipating. I have been ridiculed for warning people and showing them in Scripture that this Revelation 12:1 sign in the heavens was in fact Jesus being born and was something that happened in the past. These people refuse to listen to what is being said and would rather mock someone than look honestly at Scripture. It is very reminiscent of a watchman sounding the trumpet of warning in Ezekiel (and I’m not claiming that I’m some Biblical watchman either).

Ironically these 2 words (harpagēsometha and nilqah) are representing the same thing that is surrounded by the catching away of Jesus (resurrection) of Revelation 12:5, the resurrection of those who are alive (and those asleep) of 1st Thessalonians 4:17, a pregnant woman seeing the glory of God and the ark being taken away in 1st Samuel and Ezekiel 33:6’s watchman failing at what he is supposed to do…warn others. These people who really believe Rev. 12 is some future sign want to consider themselves watchman by their own admission and they are failing at telling Christians what is really going on. It is really frustrating to see this happening.

The Old Testament Hebrew translation of this word for a New Testament catching away is almost like the other side of this harpagēsometha coin. What will happen with those who have been proclaiming that Rev. 12 is the future sign of the church being “raptured” when that is further from the truth. The “rapture” isn’t a secret event like they have taught over all these years. And it isn’t going to happen on September 23rd like they are teaching now. But I do suspect that something very bad will come out of this whole thing. The trumpet has been blown and those reject it will suffer repercussions. And check this out, if Paul wanted to use a word that was meaning something was “taken in secret” then he would’ve used the word ‘klepto’. But he didn’t. He used harpagēsometha. Our bodily resurrection.

The Vinegar and the Sword

(Originally published in February of 2016)

“They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.” Psalms 69:21

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

It is finished: the vinegar and the sword

We are told in the Gospels that Jesus was given vinegar when He was on the cross and then He proclaimed, “It is finished”. I have often wondered what the significance of this vinegar is according to the Gospel accounts. We do know that this was a prophecy that was fulfilled according to Psalms 69 and we do know vinegar itself has a lot of ‘healing’ qualities to it. I have been drinking apple cider vinegar and it has in fact stopped my headaches and helped me in other ways. I can personally say that vinegar does work. But, what was the connection between vinegar and Jesus if there was any? Let’s dig a little and see what we can find. But before we start, I do want to say that we will go through some scriptures that you might not think that will pertain to this study but in fact they do.

We can see that vinegar has a lot of good uses for it in this day and age. It helps headaches, acid reflux, detoxing your body and there are many house hold uses for it. We also know that you can make wine with it and it can also be used with food and as a preservative/pickling agent. Civilizations over thousands of years have used vinegar in one way or another. “During biblical times, vinegar was used to flavor foods, drunk as an energizing drink, and used as a medicine. It’s mentioned in both the old and new testaments. In the Book of Ruth (Ruth 2:14), after working hard gleaning barley in the fields, Ruth was invited by Boaz to eat bread and dip it in vinegar” ( As you can see, there were and are a lot of uses for vinegar but what was the point of vinegar in the Gospel accounts? Was it just there to fulfill Psalms 69:21 or does it have more significance prophetically than we think?

Let’s take a look at the verse that mentions vinegar in the New Testament in light of this study. John 19:29 says “Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.” I often wondered where this vessel of vinegar came from, who brought it and what was its intended use? Some scholars say it was for the centurions who were watching over the crucifixion for whatever reason. That may be true to some, but when reading the Gospels you will see that the story isn’t portrayed like we have seen it in movies. The Sanhedrin were some of the key players at the crucifixion along with the Roman soldiers. The Roman soldiers were not only to watch over the crucifixion but were also to be the ones to administer it. Jesus was in judgement before the Sanhedrin for blasphemy because they claimed He was leading the nation of Israel astray and into apostasy. Pontius Pilate found no fault in Him.

In the Geneva Commentary on John 19:29 says “Galatinus witnesses out of the book called Sanhedrin that the Jews often gave those who were executed vinegar mixed with frankincense to drink, to make them somewhat delirious: so the Jews provided charitably for the poor men’s conscience who were executed.” We can see from the writing’s of the Sanhedrin that they were the ones to bring the vinegar to the place of judgement. The site where they proclaimed judgement upon a criminal or law breaker was in Bath Pagi located on the Mount of Olives. I personally believe Jesus was crucified on the Mount of Olives and not on the “skull mountain” that is northwest of the temple mount area like some believe. According to the writings of the Sanhedrin, we can see that their meeting place, council chambers and proclamations of judgement were located in the town of Bathpage (or Beth Pagi). This “outside the camp” or “outside the gate” was still recognized in Jesus’ day to be a part of Jerusalem proper or within the city limits.

In the case of this vessel, some scholars have suggested that Joseph of Arimathaea was the one who brought the filled vessel of vinegar. We do know Joseph (along with Nicodemus) were members of the Sanhedrin. Joseph “being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus” (John 19:38) so that they could bury His body in his new tomb. When reading that this vessel could have belonged to Joseph (and this is just pure speculation), it made me wonder if it may have had something to do with “the manner of the Jews is to bury” (John 19:40) custom. I researched it and came across how Jews (presently and in the past) embalm their dead according to their customs. They still do this to this very day. Rabbi Elochonon Zohn states “”There are some chevras that use a mixture of egg white and vinegar, applied to the forehead, which was an old way of identifying the body of a Jew, when a body had to be transported and sometimes switched by non-Jews to perpetuate a blood libel. The vinegar has a strong smell, and the egg is sticky, so by either feel or smell, Jews could tell if the body was switched.” ( He is speaking about when a Jew is blown up and they need to recognize their body just in case it becomes misplaced. The smell of the vinegar in this case is used to recognize their body. Other civilizations have also used vinegar in the embalming method for whatever reasons, mainly for preserving. The point is, vinegar has been associated with the burial of the dead even if this wasn’t used in the burial of Jesus. Either way, the Scriptures don’t say if it was or if it wasn’t.

Before we get into this study I want to point out that I was curious as to what kind of vinegar this was inside this vessel. “1000 BC… In ancient Rome different types of vinegar were made from wine, dates, figs and other fruits and placed in bowls for the dunking of bread” ( We can find an example of dunking the bread in vinegar in Ruth 2. I also find it interesting that the Romans used figs and dates to make vinegar. So what is so interesting about this? We already know that the Roman guards were present as a security measure and this site was at Beth Pagi. Bethpage is called the “house of Figs”. Was this vinegar made of figs? I can only speculate but it is interesting. Now let’s take an in depth look into the Gospel of John’s account in Chapter 29.

In John 19:29, the KJV says “Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar”. The word vessel in the Greek is ‘skeuos’. A vessel could represent a person’s body according to Paul. Strong’s definition says, “a vessel to contain liquid; a vessel of mercy or wrath; any instrument by which anything is done”. He defines this vessel as not only something that contains liquid, but as a symbol of ‘a vessel of mercy or wrath’. I suggest the latter was alluded to in the crucifixion account of this vessel. That this vessel was not only literally filled with a liquid, but was symbolic of the wrath that Jesus was to drink. And this particular wrath (orge), was the wrath that we all deserve starting from Adam until now. Let me point out one other thing that Strong’s says in regards to the word ‘skeuos’. He says “a vessel, implement, equipment or apparatus (literally or figuratively [specifically a wife as contributing to the usefulness of the husband]).” He attributes a ‘skeuos/vessel’ to a wife that contributes something that is useful to her husband. This reminds of when Eve was created from Adam’s rib to be his helpmate. She wasn’t to be his slave (as some would think) but was to assist him in life as a wife is supposed to do. And this also makes me think about the Bride that Jesus is coming back for. She is to be white as snow when He returns and we are to be His helpmate while we await His return for us. At Golgotha Jesus took this vessel full of the sin of the world that had started with Adam, so that we as the Bride of Christ, could be redeemed through His blood.

I also want to point out that the word for ‘vessel’ in Hebrew is ‘keliy’. This word can be used for ‘an article, vessel, implement, utensil’. The root for ‘keliy’ is ‘kalah’. Strong’s definition is “to end, whether intransitively (to cease, be finished, perish) or transitively (to complete, prepare, consume).” Brown-Driver-Briggs says “to accomplish, cease, consume, determine, end, fail, finish, be complete, be accomplished, be ended, be at an end, be finished, be spent.” And the Complete WordStudy Dictionary states “Its primary meaning is to consummate or to bring to completion. This occasionally occurs in a positive sense as in the awesome goodness of God’s perfected and finished creation (Gen_2:1-2). However, kālāh is more often used with a negative connotation. The verb also describes the transitory reality of fallen human nature. We finish our years like a sigh (Psa_90:9), passing away like an exhausted cloud (Job_7:9).” It’s interesting that this word ‘kalah’ means ‘to end, finish or accomplish’. And here is what is so cool. This root word from where this Hebrew vessel comes from is associated with the transitory (not permanent or temporary) reality of our fallen human nature that began with the first man Adam. And in a more positive light, it represents a consummation or the ending of something. A marriage is finalized after the ceremony when it is consummated. We see the ending as a consummation when Jesus comes back for His bride for the marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9). We also see in Daniel 9:27, the “abominations he shall make desolate, even until the consummation”. This desolation doesn’t stop until Jesus comes back, this is the end. Later we will see the connection to this root word for vessel in Hebrew and how it ties into Jesus on the cross when He says “it is finished!”

Mark 11 and the vessel

“And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.”

Now let’s take a look at Mark 11 and see what it says about this vessel. We can see this literal vessel ‘skeuos’ in Mark 11:15-16, “And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; And would not suffer (ēphien) that any man should carry (dienenkē) any vessel (skeuos) through the temple.” We can see the negative connotations of this vessel being used in the temple, turning it into a sort of market place and a den of thieves. The variation of this word for ‘suffer’ is ἤφιεν (ēphien). It was used twice and can be translated as ‘permit or allowed’. In the only other account of this word, it is used in Mark 1:34 for Jesus not allowing the devils to speak because they knew who He was. I assume that this is because He had just started His ministry and He had many things that needed to be accomplished. This verse in Mark 1:34 also tells us Jesus has complete authority over these devils. Jesus would not suffer us or allow us or permit us to carry anything that is not of Him i.e. sin, in our bodily vessel.

The Greek word that is used for the phrase “should carry” is διενέγκῃ (dienenkē). It was used just this one time but the root word that dienenkē comes from is diaphérō. HELP’S Word Studies says this about diaphérō, “(from 1223 /diá, “through,” intensifying 5342 /phérō, “carry”) – properly, take all the way through (i.e. to the end); (figuratively) to distinguish fully to show what is better (superior).” It is used a total of 13 times and we find it in Matthew 10:31 when Jesus asks if we aren’t of more value than sparrows. In the context of the 4 Gospel accounts of this word diaphérō, it is used for people who are better or of more value than sheep or birds. Is Jesus saying that the vessels that these men were carrying through the temple were of no value because of what they contained? Was this to be taken literally or symbolically? I think we can see it both ways. Let’s take a look and see what Jesus may have been saying prophetically in a symbolic sense. “And would not suffer (allow/permit) that any man should carry (denotes something that should be of value (something that is superior) but there was no value in what they had, and they were to carry this to the very end) any vessel (something sinful and of no value) through the temple (body).”

If we look at this verse in Mark 11 in a spiritual sense, are we seeing Jesus going into our temples (our bodies) and cleaning house? Do we think we are to carry (anything that isn’t of value) and have a full vessel (sin) in our own temples (bodies)? We are to get rid of those things that are of no need for us anymore. Is this verse also symbolic of the separation of the sheep and the goats by casting out those that buy and sell (remember Revelation) and rebuking those who are more in love with making money off of their spiritual gifts and selling them? Let’s also take notice that before Jesus goes into Jerusalem i.e. the Temple, He was on the Mount of Olives coming from Bethpage and this is when He mentioned the fig tree “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. “(Mark 11:16 and Matthew 21:19). We can see a connection from this account with this vessel and the fig tree prior to Jesus going into the temple. The significance of this vessel according to Mark has a very negative connotation that tells us not to carry sin in our own temples. Don’t you know that we are the Temple of God?

Now back to John 19:29. “Now there was set (ekeito) a vessel full (meston) of vinegar”. The phrase ‘there was set’ or ‘had been set (there)’ is ‘ekeito’. This is used just four times. Once in Matthew 28:6, John 20:12 and Revelation 4:2. In the two Gospel accounts, it was used for the body of Jesus that was lying in the tomb after He had risen. It was translated as ‘was set’ in Revelation for Jesus sitting on the throne ruling and reigning. So we can see it used at the time when Jesus was in the grave for three days and three nights and when He had ascended to the throne at the right hand of God. In context of these scriptures we can clearly see this word ‘ekeito’ was used for before (pre-death), during (bodily death) and after (post-resurrection) concerning His body. This vessel that ‘was set’ was used in three different settings. Now let’s take a look at the word used for ‘full’. The word used for ‘full’ in the Greek is ‘meston’. It was used only three times, twice in John 19:29 and once in John 21:11. John 21:11 is when Peter cast out his net and caught the 153 fish in his net. This miracle was signifying that they are now fishers of men, not just fisherman. Notice how they were specific with the 153 fish and counting every single last fish in the net. I personally believe the outer layer of this text is the miracle of the 153 fush. But I think we can find a little more meaning just by doing a little digging and peeling the layers.

John 21 and the full net

“Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.” – John 21:11

In John 21 we see Jesus on the shore already cooking fish on a hot fire, when He tells Peter to bring the miraculous catch to him. Peter was out at sea which symbolically can represent the nations in the Bible (and on a side note: according to Rabbinical writings, the sea represents the spiritual and the land represents the physical). Remember, at this point Jesus is also in His resurrected body. I see this as a type of the end time harvest where Jesus has already started the separation of the wheat and tares (of those “fish” that will burn in the fire). Peter (a type of the church) is out being a fisher of men and is collecting those who are ready for the harvest. We can see here that the Holy Spirit had the writer of the Gospel of John use the word ‘drew’ when talking about how Peter brought the net to land. Here is something interesting. This word drew – helkuo’ (ειλκυσεν) was also used one other time, in this variation in the New Testament, and it happens to be in John 18:10. “Then Simon Peter having a sword drew (ειλκυσεν ) it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” I know Peter wasn’t evangelizing to Malchus here because we know the context of what is going on. That’s obvious. But with that said, I personally see two different Peters here in these two different verses. Prior to Jesus going to the cross and Peter not having that resurrected life through Christ yet, we see Peter like I can sometimes get. Instead of drawing men and leading them to Christ like John 21, we tend to beat up on people, Christian and non-Christian alike. I have caught myself wanting to cut off the ears (figuratively speaking) of those who won’t or don’t want to listen to the Good News. This is completely contradicting on how we need to treat people.

One other thing I want to bring up in John 21 is the 153 fish. The amount of fish that were held in the net was a miracle in itself. But, I have read where these 153 fish can represent many different things. In Hebrew gemetria, the phrases “Sons of God – bene ha Elohim”, “the Passover – ha Pesach” and Zola Levitt states “I Am GOD – Ani Elohim” all adds up to 153. There is only one word in Hebrew that does add up to 153, the word Mitzvah (commandment). I have also read that the 153 fish represented every known species of fish at the time and not only that, the 153 represented every known person/ethnicity at that time. You can also find that there were exactly 153 people in the Gospels that were either blessed or healed in one way or another that came into contact with Jesus. And Jerome in his Commentary of Ezekiel 47:10 also linked the 153 fish to Ezekiel’s vision of a river of life flowing out from the Messianic Temple when Jesus returns. I won’t get into this so you will need to read Jerome’s commentary to get a better understanding of what he is saying.

One thing that immediately caught my attention was that these 153 fish are equal to 5 months. We see 5 months in Revelation 9 where the locusts are not to harm those who are sealed by God. I have read that this 5 months or 153 days can be looked at as the final 5 months before Jesus comes back. I also want to point out Genesis 7:24 and 8:3. “And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days” and “And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated”. This is obviously 3 days short of the 153 but we can see that this is the time of judgement during the flood. The time when anything living would cease to live after the 150 days or 5 months. Most scholars believe Jesus could come back during the fall feasts to fulfill prophecy, since He fulfilled the first four feasts in the final week of His life here on earth. Now as far as Revelation 9 is concerned, I do know this. These real locusts tend to ravage and destroy crops from May to September in Israel and this all happens at the 5th Trumpet. According to what I just mentioned, the timing of these locusts ends right when the fall feasts starts. And just for the record, I personally believe that these locusts represents demonic spirits or entities.

Now if we are to look at this 153 fish as an end time harvest, I am reminded by what Paul says in 1st Thessalonians 4:15-17. “For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Some scholars look at the word ‘remain’ in these verses and believe that it could be interpreted as ‘remnant’. The word perileipomenoi (περιλειπομενοι) can mean ‘left behind (with the implication of continuing to exist), to survive or remain’. To put it plainly, “Those who are “alive and remain” will be those who have survived the persecution of the antichrist when the Lord returns”(

This Greek word for ‘remain’ is the same as ‘shawar’ in Hebrew. This root word ‘shawar’ literally means to “swell up” and can carry the meaning ‘remaining, to reserve or remnant’. The Complete WordStudy Dictionary says this about ‘Shawar’. “The term maintains a narrow semantic range throughout Old Testament literature. The verb and the nouns that derive from it (see e’ār [H7605] and e ’ēriyṯ [H7611]) play a key role in the development of the remnant theme that unfolds and evolves over the course of Old Testament history. From the early beginnings of salvation history in Genesis and all the way through to the end of the Old Testament and beyond, God has sovereignly acted to preserve for Himself a remnant of people who will worship Him alone”. We can see that the words for remnant come from this root word exclusively and we can see this connection when Paul mentions those who “remain” to those in Thessalonica. Those who are alive and remain that survive till the very end, can only be one group of people…the remnant of GOD. Is this the same group of those that are sealed in Revelation 9?

Now here is a big hypothetical what if? But…could it be possible that these 5 months (153 days) of Revelation 9 at the 5th Trumpet may be a type of the harvest right before Jesus comes back? Is this the outpouring of the end time new wine that Joel talks about? We can see one side of the coin of where those who take the mark of the beast are tormented and want to die but they can’t. Then we have the other side of the coin where we have those who have the seal of God and they can’t be harmed. During these 5 months they are literally being refined by fire and going through tribulation. Are these 153 fish connected to the 5 months of Revelation 9 in turn connected to the end time harvest remnant? Are those that are sealed in Rev. 9 sealed the same way someone is sealed when they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior? Is this the same sealing? I would think so. So, this brings me to John 4:34-38. “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.” We can see Jesus referring to the end of a harvest and there were still four months left. But He says that they were already being made white and were ready at that point. Does this correlate with the 5 months of Revelation 9? I can’t be dogmatic about it but I can say there does seem to be some sort of connection as far as I’m concerned.

Vinegar and the vow

So we have already looked at a verse that can be seen symbolically as a vessel (that is representing a person’s body) that was full (filled to the rim) with vinegar (sin) that was set (the risen Lord in His resurrected body) there for a purpose. But can we be sure vinegar represents sin? The word vinegar is ὄξους (oxous) in Greek and is used 4 times. In each instance it is used in relation to Jesus on the cross being given the vinegar. The other word in the New Testament that is used for wine is ‘oinos’ and it is used for the wine that the harlot drinks. These are two different wines and the vinegar that we are talking about is also not to be confused with the vinegar that was mixed with gall that He was offered in Matthew 27:34, 48. He refused this as we can see in scriptures because this had a numbing or pain killing effect to it. Oxous is translated in the Septuagint in Ruth 2:14 and Numbers 6:3. The Numbers reference is to the Nazarite Vow where they were to stay away from anything fermented.

“In the order of the Nazirite there is not only the concept of separation and consecration of an individual to God but also the concept of ministerial service, and perhaps a link to the royal priesthood as found in the High Priest’s vow of service.  The Hebrew word nezer, from the same root as the word nazir , which also means “consecrated” is inscribed on the holy crown worn on the mitre of the High Priest [Exodus 29:6; 39:30; Leviticus 8:9], on the “crown” of the holy anointing oil used to sanctify people and objects to Yahweh [Leviticus 21:12], and later in the days of the monarchy the term is applied to the royal crown of the Kings of Israel [see 2 Samuel 1:10; 2 Kings 11:12; Zechariah 9:16]…. Abstaining from wine and all products of the vine separate him or her from normal social occasions and the lure of temporal luxury and excess and is perhaps a reminder of the “fruit” that led man into sin in the Garden of Eden. The abstention from fermented drink signified that the Nazirite’s acceptance of a life of service as opposed to a life of ease [see Jeremiah 35:5-8].” ( (The big debate is if Jesus took the Nazarite vow that Paul, John the Baptist and Sampson took or if He didn’t. I won’t get into that here but I will say this. If you do a simple Hebrew word study on Nazarite and Nazareth/Nazarene, you will find out that they are two completely different words that have no relation. Jesus was the Branch. You can find a good starting point on this subject here:

Notice that the article above refers to the original sin in the Garden of Eden when eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I am one to believe that this tree was in fact a fig tree according to the leaves that Adam and Eve covered themselves with. Another strong point is that Jesus also cursed the fig tree and it withered and died. Tradition also states that this tree of knowledge of good and evil was located on the mount of Olives, the same place Jesus cursed the fig tree before He entered the Temple to overturn the tables. So this could be a reminder according to the Nazarite vow that they were to stay away from sin and were to consecrate themselves the same way the High Priest would. This brings us to what vinegar could represent. I believe the bitterness of it could represent sin. Although it has medicinal aspects to it, the symbology of it fits well with sin. This word for vinegar is ‘chomets’ in Hebrew and comes from the root word ‘chamets’. Chamets means ‘to be leavened, be sour, to be red’. ‘Chamets’ was used in Exodus 12:34 & 39 when talking about unleavened bread. Leaven always represented sin or in some cases in the New Testament was alluded to false doctrine.

We can see this in Galations 5:9 “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump”, in 1st Corinthians 5:6-8 “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth”. We can see that these verses represents sin. Now take note of the last meaning, ‘to be red’. We can find this word in Isaiah 63:1 “Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed (chamets) garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” This is referring to Jesus coming from Bozrah, Edom after He has treaded the wine press at His second coming. If we are to take this literal, then it looks like Jesus’ garments are literally dipped in blood from His judgment at the winepress. I believe this to be true, literally and symbolically. Remember this judgement that He has performed in Edom, because it will all make sense in a little bit.

Vinegar and the sharp twoedged sword

Let’s get back to the Greek word ‘oxous’ (vinegar) for a minute. This word comes from ‘oxus’ which means ‘sharp, swift or eager’. We can find this word in Revelation 1:16 “And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp (oxus) twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength” and in Revelation 19:15 “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp (oxus) sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” This is also used in Revelation 14:14, 17, 18 when talking about the sharp sickle that treads the winepress in judgement. Remember Bozrah and the dyed (chamets) garments? We can see a connection here with the Hebrew word for vinegar and the sickle that treads the winepress in judgement. So we can see that this is mentioning judgement when Jesus comes back. Here is the cool thing about this word. Jesus takes the vinegar (oxous) and ingests it on the cross and says “It is finished”. He who was without sin was taking our sin for us so we could have redemption through the work of the cross. He took the oxous (vinegar) which was symbolic of our sins (I would go out on a limb and even say the original sin with Adam) and when He returns, He will come with the sharp (oxus) sword of judgement that will precede out of His mouth. Do you see the connection? He ingested one for us on the Mount of Olives where we obtained our redemption and it will proceed out of His mouth in the future on the Mount of Olives in judgment.

Let’s look at the rest of what John 19:29 says, “and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.” We can also see a connection with the word ‘mouth’ in John 19:29 and this sword of judgement. Luke 21:24 says “And they shall fall by the edge (stomati) of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” We find this same word in John 19:29 “Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth (stomati).” We also see this same word in Revelation 10:9-10 “And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth (stomati) sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth (stomati) sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.” There is also a connection to bitterness and a sharp twoedged sword in Proverbs 5:4 “But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.” You can find Wormwood in Revelation 8. We can see another connection with bitterness, the mouth and the twoedged sword that are all connecting the dots back to vinegar i.e. sin and judgment.

We see in the Matthew 27:48 account where one of them ran and got the vinegar to give to Jesus. “And straightway one of them ran (dramon), and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.” The word used for ran is ‘dramon’ and it is also used in the Mark account and in Luke 15:20 with the prodigal son returning home. “And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran (dramon), and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” I believe whoever ran and did this at the cross, it was strictly out of compassion and love for Jesus. This was all done in humility as the Father welcomed the prodigal son back into His arms. Did he know he was fulfilling prophecy of Psalms 69:21 when Jesus proclaimed “I thirst”? I wonder who this was that did this? Was it Joseph of Aramathea or Nicodemus or some unnamed person in the Gospel account like Lazarus? We will never know. We can only speculate. Also notice in John’s account that they ‘put or brought’ the vinegar to His mouth. This word is προσήνεγκαν (prosēnenkan) and is used 7 times and they are all in the gospels. The first time it is used is in Matthew 2:11 when the magi brought Him gifts when He was a toddler. In Matthew 4:24, 8:16, 9:32 and 14:35 this is translated as ‘brought’ when the people were bringing Jesus those that were possessed with demons and those that were sick. With the vinegar being brought to His mouth, we can see that this is symbolic of the final work on the cross that brought us redemption and salvation. Not only was this putting the vinegar to His mouth a gift for us (like in the story of the magi) but He bore our sins that we brought to Him at the cross.

Let’s talk about the hyssop mentioned in Matthew for a second.I will be brief on this hyssop. The most interesting thing about the hyssop is that it was used in the Passover in Exodus 12:22. It was dipped in the bason full of the blood of the lamb and put on both sides of the door and at the top. This vinegar given to Jesus on the cross was symbolic of Him being the final Passover Lamb slain for the sins of the world. In John Gill’s Exposition of the Bible he makes a mention of the ‘hyssop’. He states “The Arabic and Persic versions render it, “a reed”, as in the other evangelists; and the Ethiopic version has both, “they filled a sponge with vinegar, and it was set round with hyssop, and they bound it upon a reed”; and so some have thought that a bunch of hyssop was stuck round about the sponge of vinegar, which was fastened to the top of a reed; and the words will bear to be rendered; “setting it about with hyssop”: this they might have out of the gardens, which were near this place, or it might grow upon the mountain itself; for we are told (z), it grew in great plenty upon the mountains about Jerusalem, and that its branches were almost a cubit long. Josephus (a) makes mention of a village beyond Jordan called Bethezob, which, as he says, signifies the house of hyssop; perhaps so called from the large quantity of hyssop that grew near it:”

We see this reed that the hyssop was on mentioned in Mark’s account in Mark 15:36 and in Matthew’s account in Matthew 27:48. This word in the Greek is καλάμῳ (kalamō) and was used 2 other times. Once in Mark 15:19 when Jesus was spat on and hit in the head with a reed and in Revelation 21:16 when the angel had the reed that he used to measure the New Jerusalem. A variation of this same word was used in Revelation 11:1 when John was told to take the reed and measure “the temple of God, and the altar and them that worship therein”. JFB Commentary says this about the reed. “The reed, the canon of Scripture, the measuring reed of the Church, our rule of faith, speaks. So in Rev_16:7 the altar is personified as speaking (compare Note, see on Rev_16:7). The Spirit speaks in the canon of Scripture (the word canon is derived from Hebrew, “kaneh,” “a reed,” the word here used; and John it was who completed the canon).” It was to be the perfect measuring “stick” for truth. Not only truth but was also used as a form of judgement in the Old Testament. And in this case, was this reed used to fulfill prophecy in a literal and symbolic sense?

John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received (elaben) the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” The word received here can be translated as took and it is ἔλαβεν (elaben) in the Greek. We find this word first used in Matthew 8:17 when Jesus is fulfilling Isaiah 53:4. “Himself took (elaben) our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.” Remember John 10:17-18? “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” Jesus took it on His own behalf because He knew He had the power raise up His vessel again..and He did! I like the translation of John 19:30 when it reads He TOOK it other than received it. We have already seen the word ‘put’ when referring to the vinegar being ‘put or brought’ to the mouth of Jesus in the previous verse of John 19:29 was used when the people were bringing the sick to be healed and those that were possessed to be delivered. Now we see in the next verse that Jesus taking the vinegar is fulfilling what was being brought to Him.

It is finished

Now we come to when Jesus said “It was finished”. This word is τετέλεσται (tetelestai) and this form of this word was only used twice. The other time is in John 19:28 “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished (tetelestai), that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.” Jesus knew that the work of redemption on the cross was finished and all that needed to be done was to drink the vinegar and fulfill Psalms 69:21. The last thing that Jesus did was take the original sin (vinegar) from Adam at that tree and place himself on that tree for us, and put that sin to His mouth and drank of that cup. Symbolically speaking, He also did this literally! It’s amazing that the last thing that touched His mouth was the vinegar that represented our sin and transgressions so that all things would be accomplished! Remember the word for vessel (keliy) in Hebrew? The word ‘keliy’ that comes from the root word for ‘kalah’, is the same word used for ‘tetelestai’ when translated from the Greek to the Hebrew. Can you believe that?! The word vessel in Hebrew comes from the root word that means “to accomplish or be complete” and when translated into Greek, it is this same word that means “accomplished or finished” – teleo (root word for ‘tetelestai)’. Jesus knew “It is finished” before it was finished. The final thing that He needed to do was to take the vinegar from this vessel at the place of His crucifixion and transfer that vessel full of symbolic sin and place the literal sin from creation upon His body. But I want to point out something. What was finished? The work of the cross was finished that we will never have to taste the sting of death. That those who believe upon His name will be saved and will be with Him forever. Remember when Jesus rose from the tomb? Peter and the unnamed person that was with him, ran to the tomb to only find out He was gone. And the one thing they found was His face cloth/napkin folded neatly? This is very significant. Let’s see why.

Here is something I had read on a Facebook post from Rk Ralf Kelleter about the napkin that was folded inside the empty tomb. “The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes. In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it.. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now, if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, ‘I’m done’. But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because……….. The folded napkin meant, ‘I’m coming back!’”

From this study of the napkin in John 20:7 we can see symbolically Jesus was saying that in fact He wasn’t finished. He would be back a second time. The work on the cross was in fact finished before Jesus put the vinegar (which was represented as the original sin) to His mouth. This is what you can call the icing on the cake in terms of His final redemption for mankind and creation. ‘Tetelestai’ or ‘it was finished or accomplished’ was in fact FINISHED except for one thing. He is coming back for us. The folded napkin signifies this.

So with all that said, I know that I took you down a few rabbit holes but I felt like I needed to in order to show you how these Greek words were used in context of John 19:29. We have seen a connection with the vinegar that was put to the mouth of Jesus and the sword that comes from His mouth when He returns. A speculative, but possible connection with figs and the vinegar at the place of crucifixion. The vessel that is connected to something that is sinful and of no use, and this vessel that is represented as a body. The vessel also being tied to the phrase “it is finished”. We have seen the word full as being connected to an end time harvest that can only be made through Jesus and what He did on the cross. Taking our sins so we could be saved. We have seen the 153 fish (symbolically) connected to the 5 months of Revelation 9 that is connected to the end time harvest remnant that is in fact tied right back into the cross. And we finally see that this vinegar is represented as sin in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. The Hebrew word for vinegar is also connected to Jesus treading the winepress which represents the end time judgment at the time of His Second Coming. With knowing all of these things, it’s hard to think that this vinegar was just vinegar He drank. We can see that it was symbolically much more than that.

One final thing I will leave you with is something that caught my eye as far as the English word vinegar goes. This is from etymology online in regards to where the word vinegar comes from. This definition and origin is no surprise.  This is from, “early 14c., from Old French vinaigre “vinegar,” from vin “wine” (from Latin vinum; see wine (n.)) + aigre “sour” (see eager). In Latin, it was vinum acetum “wine turned sour;” compare Greek oxos “wine vinegar,” which is related to oxys “sharp”. (

But then I was curious to just look at the word vinegar in two separate words – vine and gar. A vine is “plant that which bears the grapes from which the wine is made” and “in reference to any plant with a long slender stem that trails or winds around”. I think vine is obvious to its definition. The word gar is “the fish so called for its long sharp snout”. It comes from an Old English word that means “spear”. Interesting right? Well, according to Merriam-Webster the word Gar is a “euphemism for God”.

A mirror image of a false sign

(Originally published in June 2017)

“As for the new addition to the family, they revealed that they will be soon welcoming a son, who they joke about in the family as being “diagnosis: male.” (

I was reading this article and I thought about this 9/23/17 false sign. I mean come on, how fitting is it for this false sign fooling everyone into thinking something is going to happen and then you have, in my opinion, a mirror image of this false sign. What do I mean by that? People are fooled into believing something that really isn’t true. You have a lady who’s a man who’s gay with another man and is going to now have a baby as a man by her gay husband. A transgender woman that’s pregnant. If that’s not false then I don’t know what is.

And how fitting its when this false sign is getting ready to be “birthed”. Deception after deception after deception…its never going to end until Jesus comes back to judge us all. And let me also add that its at a time when this Arch of Palmyra will more than likely head back to Syria. I’ve narrowed it down that this Arch is in the spirit of Isis welcoming in the spirit of Osiris/Nimrod. And guess what…her (Isis) priesthood were TRANSGENDER! How fitting right? A false birth.

UPDATE: So the dude that is gay who wants to be a chick who got a chick pregnant who wants to be a transgender dude finally had the baby. Do remember when I compared this abomination to the false birth of September 23rd? Guess what they named him….LEO aka the Lion. Like the constellation of 9 stars that now magically makes 12 that has miraculously become a crown of 12 stars over Virgo as Jupiter waits for its birthday. Everyone wants to change how everything was originally intended. Do you get it?

And someone had brought to my attention that this woman gave birth to this baby boy in Portland. It just so happens that Portland is the 33rd state where the August 21st eclipse starts and it ends on the 33rd parallel going through COLUMBIA, South Carolina. Occultists believe that the number 33 represents the highest degree of spiritual achievement and the physical symbol is the “Third eye” or the all seeing eye.

“If a life is taken close to the northern 33rd Parallel, this fits with the Masons’ demonic mythology in which they demonstrate their worldly power by spilling human blood at a predetermined locale.” [“Masons and Mystery At The 33rd Parallel”, by Day Williams]

I wish I was making this up…
